Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.
The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source ( NOTESProxy ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: NOTES:.

What is causing the “The description for Event ID ( … ) in Source ( …. ) cannot be found… “?
From a newsgroup post: "We have found a workaround for this problem. You have to put the Exchange server with the notes connector into a different routing group then the other exchange servers. Then you set up a connector between the two routing groups.
There is yet another workaround that may be possible in some situations: make sure that your root DNS zone (denoted as ".") is enabled for WINS forwarding. The problem is that other servers are attempting to look up your notes connector server as "NETBIOSNAME". If you can control your root zone, you can make that succeed immediately by enabling WINS forwarding on it".
