Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

I removed a program called "IEFEATS|" through Add/Remove programs and solved the problem.
In my case, the solution was removal of “Hotbar”. Third party toolbars seem to be the culprit in this one.
I was able to resolve this problem by deleting the user profile and let it be recreated when logging back on.
I had this error (with Windows 2000 and IE 6.0 SP2) after I had installed Yahoo Search Toolbar and Yahoo companion in Internet Explorer 6. I removed the Yahoo toolbar and the problem was solved.
I had this exact error on a PC with Windows 2000 and IE 6.0 SP1. The user had installed the "Google Search Toolbar for Internet Explorer". When I uninstalled this, the problem went away.
In my case this was caused by Kazaa 2.0.2. After uninstalling Kazaa, all the "crashing" problems with Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express 6, went away.
