See ME318378 for information on how to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP.

Follow the link to "Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites" for help on removing this kind of software.
I removed a program called "IEFEATS|" through Add/Remove programs and solved the problem.
In my case, the solution was removal of “Hotbar”. Third party toolbars seem to be the culprit in this one.
I was able to resolve this problem by deleting the user profile and let it be recreated when logging back on.
I had this error (with Windows 2000 and IE 6.0 SP2) after I had installed Yahoo Search Toolbar and Yahoo companion in Internet Explorer 6. I removed the Yahoo toolbar and the problem was solved.

I had this exact error on a PC with Windows 2000 and IE 6.0 SP1. The user had installed the "Google Search Toolbar for Internet Explorer". When I uninstalled this, the problem went away.
In my case this was caused by Kazaa 2.0.2. After uninstalling Kazaa, all the "crashing" problems with Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express 6, went away.
See also ME816506 for possible cause.
