In most cases however, this information would only be useful to the developer of that specific application. It may help to provide that detail when opening a support ticket.
This particular issue started when I bought a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop with Windows Vista. There is a known issue with Windows Vista going into hibernation or stand by mode and USB Hubs. See ME928631 and ME930568 for information on this issue.
