Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.
Mapping information could not be obtained from Username mapping. Another attempt will be made after 30 minutes.

What is username mapping?
This issue occurs when you do not have the User Name Mapping component installed on the server that has Microsoft Services for NFS installed. See ME925637 to solve this problem.
By default, all computers (except the localhost) are denied access to the User Name Mapping Service. You need to edit the .Maphosts file usually located in "C:\SFU\Mapper" on the computer with the Mapping Service installed. Add the name or IP address of the computer that has the Event ID 1003. Save the file. Stop and Restart the User Name Mapping service. See ME323722 for details.
As per Microsoft: "These errors occur because the User Name Mapping service is dependent on the network connectivity and must have at least one network connection to start. To resolve the problem if the network cable is unplugged, reconnect the network cable, and then restart the User Name Mapping service. To prevent the User Name Mapping service from stopping, install the Microsoft Loopback Adapter. This adapter will make sure that at least one network connection is present". See ME833605 for more details.
As per ME323722 (applicable to Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX), if the .Maphosts file is not present, no computers can access User Name Mapping, including the computer that is running User Name Mapping.
ME289690 says that if the Server for NFS service and the User Name Mapping service are on the same computer and the Server for NFS service is configured to use the User Name Mapping service that is local, the Server for NFS service may not be able to obtain user maps for one of the following reasons:
- The Server for NFS service may start before the User Name Mapping service.
- The User Name Mapping service may be using a UNIX User source across a slow link or WAN. If the User Name Mapping service is unable to retrieve mappings before the Server for NFS service sends a request, user maps are unavailable.
