This problem occurs because COMTI incorrectly uses NULL (EBCDIC X00) characters to pad the host user name and password when the host user name and password are less than eight characters long. See ME915841 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000.

As per Microsoft: "This problem occurs because the COMTI runtime received the correct credentials from the HAC. However, the COMTI runtime did not copy the credentials to the data buffer that is sent to the mainframe computer". See ME900803 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000.

As per Microsoft: "COM Transaction Integrator (COMTI) calls fail intermittently under load conditions. This problem occurs when the COMTI calls use the USERID feature, the PASSWORD feature, and the REOverride feature". See ME892511 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000.

This problem occurs because COMTI does not correctly pass the user name and domain name that COMTI is using to the APPC ALLOCATE verb. This problem occurs when the Authenticate with user credentials check box is selected as the security setting for the COMTI remote environment (RE). See ME898611 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000.

The COMTI runtime examines the GUID for the COMTI Remote Environment to determine the transport to use. This GUID check is case sensitive. This event can occur when this GUID check fails because of case sensitivity. See ME894548 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000.

The problem occurs because COMTI incorrectly compares the length of the password against the length of the user ID that is sent to the IMS application. When the password is longer than the user ID, COMTI incorrectly truncates the password. See ME912002 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000.

See ME891564, ME927287 and ME935217 for hotfixes applicable to Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 and Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004.

See ME908660, ME915037, ME917599 and ME921483 for hotfixes applicable to Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004.

This problem may also occur when you apply COM+ Hotfix Rollup Package 19 or later and if you use COMTI with SNA Server 4.0 and Host Integration Server 2000. See ME321100 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft SNA Server 4.0.

See ME182834, ME220967, ME228503, ME233551, ME313137, ME313151, ME321926, ME823183 and ME827802 for additional information about this event.
See ME822205, ME822887, ME884572, and ME895256 for hotfixes applicable to Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000.

- Error message: "The time out period for the method elapsed and no reply was received" - See ME875549.

See ME329669 and ME818712 for additional information on this event.
