Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

The store driver couldn't deliver the public folder replication message "Hierarchy (PublicDatabase@domain.com)" because the following error occurred: MapiExceptionNetworkError: Unable to make connection to the server. (hr=0x80004005 ec=2423)
|English: Request a translation of the event description in plain English.|
I was getting an error like this between a 2007 transport and 2007 MB server with PF store on it. Problem turned out to be DNS entry was slightly wrong. I could ping by IP but not by name, A record was 1 digit off, and very hard to spot.
This message can be recorded in various error conditions. The actual error message in the event description provides a clue on how to approach the troubleshooting.
- MapiExceptionNetworkError: Unable to make connection to the server.- Indicates a network connectivity problem. It could be a DNS issue, security policies restricting traffic, firewalls blocking access, insufficient bandwidth and actual physical network problems (cables, switches, routers). The network connection issue might not be very obvious, but that's what the error says: One way or the other, I am unable to contact the server.
- MapiExceptionDuplicateDelivery: Unable to deliver message
- The message content has become corrupted.
- Can't save invalid object Object Violation. Invalid property... or††Property validation failed. - These usually indicate bugs within Exchange, there is hardly anything the admin can do, except making sure that the latest service pack and hotfixes are installed (see ME958239 for an example applicable to Exchange 2007). Microsoft support team might be contacted, they should look into this free of charge.
Error: MapiExceptionDuplicateDelivery: Unable to deliver message - From a support forum: Based on my research the error message 1020 (MSExchange Store Driver) tells us that one corresponding has been delivered successfully (One message with the same Internet Message ID and the client submit time). Therefore, the duplicated message didnít get delivered with error code (MapiExceptionDuplicateDelivery). Actually, event 1020 is one enhanced feature in Exchange 2007 SP1. Before SP1, duplicated message will not be explicitly logged since it is not a true transport issue. It just for some troubleshooting analysis. error message doesn't mean a big issue related to public folder replication.
