Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

|Concepts to understand:|
What is the role of the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant (MSExchangeSA) service?
How is message tracking enabled in Exchange 2000 server?
As per Microsoft: "This could happen if a directory with that name already exists and LocalSystem does not have access to it". See MSEX2K3DB for additional information about this event.
- Error code: 0xc0070005 - As per Microsoft: "This problem occurs if you change the location of the message tracking log files to the root folder of a hard disk on your Exchange 2003 computer. For example, this problem occurs if you type C:\ as the message tracking log file path. By default, Exchange 2003 shares the folder that you specify for the message tracking log files. However, if you specify the root folder of a hard disk on your Exchange 2003 server, Exchange 2003 cannot create the share. Exchange 2003 does not give a warning message if you specify a root folder location for the message tracking log files". See ME842203 for a workaround.
