What is the Group Policy?
Occurs on Windows XP Pro when you remove an application through Group Policy but do not also disable logon optimisation (optimization), which is enabled by default. See MS article ME305293. Also logs events 101 ("The assignment of application...") and 108 ("Failed to apply changes to software installation settings..."). To resolve, enable the policy setting "Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon".
