What is IMAP?
What is the role of a POP3/IMAP virtual server?
- Error code: 0x426 - According to Microsoft if the inetinfo.exe process is stopped on a node in a cluster, the IMAP4 service (IMAP4Svc) will not restart. Instead, the Exchange Virtual Server will fail over to another node in the cluster. If you notice that your Exchange Virtual Server has failed over, check the event logs. If you see either Event ID 1040 or Event ID 116, manually restart the IIS Admin Service (IISAdmin) on the failed node. The IMAP4 service will then be able to start. "See Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Beta Release Notes".
-Error code: 0x6b0 - As per Microsoft: "This problem can occur if Microsoft Site Server is also installed on the Exchange 2000 server. Stop the Microsoft Site Server service, and then start the IMAP4 and POP3 services". See ME288200 for more details.
