What is the role of the Cluster Service?
- Error: 5 - To resolve this problem, grant the Network Service account the Write access to the MSDTC resource GUID in the cluster registry. See ME900216 for information on how to do that.
- Error: 5028 - To resolve this problem, repartition the hard disk in which you want to place the cluster files so that it is a primary partition. See ME272771 for more information on this problem.
As per Microsoft: "Check connectivity between systems. This error may indicate configuration problems, hardware problems, or network problems". See the link to "Windows Cluster Service Troubleshooting and Maintenance" to download the original white paper.
- Error: 5890 - See ME837202 and ME890761 for two hotfixes applicable to Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
