Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.
The SNMP Service is ignoring the manager (<computer>) because its name could not be resolved.

What is SNMP?
The following solution worked for us in a W2K SP4 environment: Go to Start -> Programs -> Administrative tools -> Services. Check for the SNMP service, right-click on it and select Properties, then Security tab. If you have only a few clients that you want to accept SNMP packets from choose "Accept SNMP packets from this hosts" and add the computers in the list. If there is too much computers, you might choose "Accept SNMP packets from every hosts". On the other hand, if you donít need the SNMP service, just disable it.
