Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.
Windows cannot access the the object DC=<object name>,DC=<dc name> in Active Directory. The access to the object may be denied. Group Policy processing aborted.
|English: Request a translation of the event description in plain English.|
This problem occurs because the Group Policy engine in Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003 does not have read permissions to the gPLink and gPOptions attributes of the parent OUs. See ME909260 to solve this problem.
See ME887421 to resolve this problem.
Group Policy updates were not being applied to certain machines in a a particular OU. The error message gives a clue to the solution. In AD Users and Computers, ensure that "Authenticated Users" is given read access to the OU in question under the security tab. This is the default AD configuration, other ACLs may work as well.
