What is the role of the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service?
As per Microsoft: "A problem occurred during an attempt to delete an attachment. A write conflict may have occurred". See MSEX2KDB for additional information about this event.
Errors 1104 and 1101 occurred during a disaster recovery. Private and public information stores were fixed with “eseutil /p”, “eseutil /d” and “isinteg -fix -test alltests”. During this process, several attachments got destroyed. After that, I used exmerge to restore the messages. Events 1104 and 1101 are very often listed during the exmerge restore because Exchange IS tries to delete attachments that no longer exist. In this case, these events can be safely ignored.
As per Microsoft: "
Explanation: A problem occurred during an attempt to delete an attachment. A write conflict may have occurred.
User Action: Verify that the appropriate permissions are set for folder and messages". See Exchange 2000 Documentation for more details.
