The system failed to update and remove host (A) resource records (RRs) for network adapter with settings:
Adapter Name : <adapter name>
Host Name : <name>
Primary Domain Suffix : <suffix>
DNS server list : <IP list>
Sent update to server : <server>
IP Address(es) : <IP address>
The system could not remove these A RRs because the DNS server failed the update request. A possible cause is that a zone transfer is in progress causing a lock for the zone at the DNS server authorized to perform the updates for these RRs.
This error occurred when I run “ipconfig /renew”. I noticed that the DNS’s server IP address was wrong and that my computer’s IP address was not a valid one in my intranet. I ran “nbtstat –RR” and “ipconfig /renew” again, and the problem was resolved.
