Event ID: 115 Source: MSFTPSVC

The service could not bind instance <instance number>. The data is the error code.
Another FTP service is currently using the same FTP port. From a command prompt run a “netstat –ano” to find out what service is using what port.

If you have configured a new IP address on an NT 4.0 server then you will need to restart the box for the IP to properly bind and for the FTP service to work.

This error occurs if a second (or third) instance of the FTP-Server is installed but it cannot be started (because of naming problems or something else).
