What is an HRESULT?
- Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 - Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 seems to have issues installing on a machine with Avira AntiVir 2006. I just stopped the AntiVir service and installed Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 without any problems.
I got this event when updating an installation of Microsoft Office XP to Office 2003. On the involved computer "G Data Antivirus Kit" was running which obviously interfered with the installation process. After disabling it, this error did not show again during installation.
I received this error while trying to install drivers for the Intel Wireless 2200BG device. The failure always occurred during the installation of XML support. It appears that Webroot SpySweeper Enterprise was the offender and once the Webroot services were stopped, the drivers installed normally.
In my case, I had problems installing Sophos Antivirus. After I stopped the Spy Sweeper service, I was able to successfully install the Antivirus.
- Product: Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 - Roxio Media Creator 7 seems to have issues installing on a machine with Spy Sweeper Corporate. I just stopped the Spy Sweeper service and installed Roxio Media Creator 7 without any problems.
- Product: Windows Messenger 5.1 - This problem occurs because of an issue that exists with the Microsoft Windows Installer in Windows Messenger 5.1 that causes component rules to be broken. See ME894867 to resolve this problem.
WebRoot SpySweeper Enterprise was preventing the installation of the Windows Messenger client for use with Live Communications Server. To work around this, we disabled the WebRoot SpySweeper service, installed Windows Messenger, ran the program once to finish the install, and restarted the SpySweeper service.
- Product: Microsoft Group Policy Management Console with SP1 - This problem appeared when I tried to install Group Policy Management Console and MindManager. To fix it I uninstalled Spy Sweeper Enterprise Edition. I guess Spy Sweeper thought that GPMC was spyware.
