What is the role of the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service?
By default, Exchange 2000 keeps deleted objects (like mailboxes, public folders) for a period of time (configurable) so one can recall them if necessary. Periodically, Exchange will scan for deleted objects that have passed the retention period and purge them. This message is generated when the scheduled scan has completed.
