Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

The Inter-Site Messaging Service SMTP Transport plug-in could not send a message because no mail transport is installed. Please install a mail transport, such as the SMTP Service. The operation will be retried.

|Concepts to understand:|
What is NTDS and what are the roles of its components?
In our case this occured together with EventID 1527 and Event ID 1373, every 30 minutes.
Reregistering CDOEX.DLL and CDOSYS.DLL solved our problem.
CDOEX.dll: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\CDO
On one case, this problem was due to the IIS Admin Service being disabled.
See the link to "EventID 1409 from source Active Directory" for information on this event.
This occured on a single site single master Win2K/AD domain.
Run Active Directory Sites and Service.
Expand Inter-Site Transports.
Right-click SMTP and choose New Site Link.
Click OK on the message popup saying there is only one site.
Name the link DEFAULTSMTPSITELINK.
The first and only site will already be added.
