Event ID: 1529 Source: Userenv

Cross Forest roaming user profiles are disabled. Windows did not load your roaming profile and is logging you on with a local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you logoff. Contact your network administrator.
I saw this message in my Application event log when trying to log on with a Roaming user profile from another forest. In order to allow this activity I had to change a setting in my Default Domain Policy. From within the Group Policy Object Editor in the MMC I navigated to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Group Policy. The eventís description contains additional details about this setting. Enabling the setting resolved my problem.
