Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

I received this error message after performing an online restore of and Exchange Database (specifically the Information store). I had first restored the Directory service successfully but after restoring the IS I received the above error message. ME200941 gives some details but the specific resolution was to remove the “edb.log” file from the “\\exchsrvr\mdbdata\” folder and try manually to restart the Information Store service.
