I received this error message after performing an online restore of and Exchange Database (specifically the Information store). I had first restored the Directory service successfully but after restoring the IS I received the above error message. ME200941 gives some details but the specific resolution was to remove the “edb.log” file from the “\\exchsrvr\mdbdata\” folder and try manually to restart the Information Store service.
