Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

The virtual directory containing the .exe file has the Execute application permission enabled. This causes IIS to attempt to run the .exe files in that virtual directory for the browser instead of downloading them. To work around this problem, change the virtual directory application permission to None or Script. See ME185379.
A faulty script/cgi application usually generates this error because it does not respond in time to IIS requests. For example, a Perl-based CGI script runs for too long and fails to return to IIS.
This error occurred after installing IIS on my DC server (it had already been promoted). After installing sp2 this error never reappeared again.
