Event ID: 2 Source: AmdK8

The Acpi 2.0_PCT object returned an invalid value of 255.
I found this error on a HP Pavilion Laptop running Win XP. I figured the problem was related to the chip, which was an AMD Turion 64X2. I searched information for this error, which led me to the following: “Performance control (_PCT): an interface that allows the ACPI OS to transition the processor into a performance state”. Therefore, I figured it might be related to power status of the CPU. I downloaded the most recent BIOS update and changed the power use settings for this laptop and I have not had the error since.
