Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

\Device\LanmanRedirector\;E:0\ppws012\Paypoint - Access is denied. (5)
|English: Request a translation of the event description in plain English.|
Symptoms: Unable to open Windows Explorer. Some mapped drives visible, but the window stopped responding. Explorer then crashed. Opening shortcuts to folders (not in explorer view) worked for a time, then caused same Explorer crash.
Fix: Disabling the Device Lock Service stopped this problem, however the device lock service is applied by default according to our security policy, so the Network team are still looking for a solution.
