I found that the fix required removing the PPTP protocal and then adding it. However, re-adding it was not possible for me. I had to edit the registry by removing all files associated with the protocal i.e., RASPPTPE, etc. Not having the PPTP protocal installed correctly causes an encription error for remote users trying to connect. Once the PPTP protocal was loaded correctly, the error message disappeared. Note, I also reinstalled RAS service and configured it accordingly. I felt that it was best to just redo the whole thing. However, re-adding the PPTP protocal after cleaning up the registry eliminated the error.
