This event might occur when the MTA is processing a message. See ME319846 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5.

As per Microsoft: "The MTA may experience a performance problem expanding extremely large distribution lists. The problem can also be triggered if the Recipient Name field being transferred into the MTA is larger than the buffer space available".
