Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

The compaq Foundation Agents service could not start agent "CPQMHOST". The data contains the error code.

The error code (from data) is 0x00000102 = STATUS_TIMEOUT. - The error occurs if the address 127.0.0.1 is not added to SNMP Host List. The customer must add the address 127.0.0.1 to the SNMP host list if SNMP host security is used. The compaq Management CD provides a utility that adds the address 127.0.0.1 to the host list if the customer does not want to add it manually. The utility file is named Ihost.exe and is located in SP12205. More details can be found at page 62 of the following document: Management Agents for Servers for Windows - Reference Guide. See link below.
Check if Patrol Agents are installed. If so, remove them (through Add/Remove Programs), they are from older versions of insight agents and conflict with newer versions of Insight Agents. Once removed, agents should work without an issue.
