Make sure that your firewall configuration is set to work correctly with Exchange ActiveSync and direct push technology. Specifically, make sure that your firewall is configured so that requests to Exchange ActiveSync do not expire before they have the opportunity to be processed. This issue may occur if the firewall has not been configured to let HTTP(S) requests live longer than the minimum heartbeat interval that is configured on the server that is running Exchange Server 2003 SP2. By default, the minimum heartbeat interval at which the Exchange server triggers this event is nine minutes. See ME905013 to solve this problem.
Changing the time out settings for the OWA (http and https) rule on the SonicWall firewall resolved this error.
