Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

What is the role of the Exchange MTA Service?
As per Microsoft: "This issue can occur if one or more .dat files from the \Exchsrvr\MTAData (MTA Database) directory are missing when you attempt to start the MTA". See ME274285 and MSEX2K3DB for additional information about this event.
This problem typically occurs after the MTA resource releases a lock too early on an object that is not thread safe. Data is then incorrectly written to the Db000001.dat file. If any valid pointers to MTA queues are incorrectly written, the MTA resource may not start successfully. See ME894094 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.
See ME157013 for additional information on this event.
