Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

- Error code: 2 - In my case, this was an odd situation that required uninstalling fax services on the client's XP box and re-installing the fax server on the computer. We then deleted the account in the Users Directory of the Server 2003 fax and added the client back into the system with a new password. This solved the problem.

- Error code: 5 - In my case, it was a permission error. I tried to restrict the use of the fax to a certain user group and it didn't work. I had to grant full permissions for all users to the printer and the Microsoft Fax Service in order to fix this. See ME231577 for information on how to set permissions for the Fax Service.
- Error code: 1801 - This error was caused by a restricted NETWORK SERVICE account, which could not print to the Fax Printer. Adding NETWORK SERVICE to the Security tab on the Fax printer solved the problem.
