Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

The Fax service failed to receive a fax.
From: <caller ID>
To: <server name>
Device Name: <installed modem device>.
|English: Request a translation of the event description in plain English.|
Many newer modems (mainly USB) have a FIFO buffer to improve performance. However, this can cause issues with connectivity and result in a high number of lost faxes. To change the settings go to the properties of the modem, Advanced Tab, Advanced Port Settings, and move both slide bars to the left. This dropped our failed faxes from nearly 1 per hour to 1 per day.
This error can be created by simply calling the fax number, then hanging up. Therefore, this is not an issue, unless you can confirm a fax has been lost.
See ME839501 for a workaround.
