According to the Symantec Document ID 276250, if the Windows 2003 Service Pack 1 has been installed, and the firewall feature has been enabled, then the Backup Exec (tm) Remote Agent for Windows Servers needs to be added to the list of exceptions, for backups and restores to function as well as for the server to be selected during backup jobs.
