- ASP.NET_2.0.50727 performance library - As per ME951683, this may occur after you install the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP. A hotfix for computers that don't have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is available but the SP is supposed to fix this issue.
ME266416 outlines a generic method of troubleshooting WinMgmt-based performance counter errors.
In my case, I was seeing these warnings for two services: ASP.NET and ASP.NET_2.0.50727. I used Microsoft's Extensible Counter List tool (now called the Extensible Performance Counters List tool originally included in the Windows 2000 Resource Kit) to disable the performance counters for those libraries.
