Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

What is the role of Side-by-Side?
When you install a software update package for a second time on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, an event that is similar to this one may be logged to your computer's event log. As per Microsoft: "This problem occurs because the side-by-side component does not correctly delay the Windows File Protection process when an in-place update of the side-by-side assembly occurs". See ME834503 for a hotfix.
