The server running Citrix XenApp failed to connect to the data store. The database is down or there is a network failure. Error: IMA_RESULT_DBCONNECT_FAILURE  Indirect: 0  Server:   DSN file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\Independent Management Architecture\MF20.dsn

From a Citrix support forum: "The error refers to a connection failure between the PS server and the Database server on which the Datastore resides.

In a multi server enviroment it is recommended that you have the datastore on a seperate database server and all PS servers communicate to it directly.

Also your error refers to indirect:0, i assume this error is occurring on a server which is indirectly connected via a PS datacollector server to the Database server. The contents of the file MF20.dsn would tell you the type and where the database resides."

There could be a few different reasons for this type of problem.

Make sure your Datastore is on a reliable and accessible server. The "reboot fixed my issued" mentioned tends to indicate loss of connectivity at some point or maybe a very stressed server.

For the DB access errors look at ME925744. There seems to be an issue where if you used a simple password for your SQL Express access account it could create problems.

As good practice back up your datastore often.
