From Network Associates knowledge base: NAI8308:
Changes affecting this problem: "Log Activity into the NetShield Activity log file" has been disabled
Cause of this problem: When the McUpdate program runs, it tries to log its activity. If the administrator has disabled logging on the AutoUpdate Log Activity tab, an error message appears in the event log stating that McUpdate could not write to the activity log file.
Solution: This issue has been corrected in the HotFix Rollup (HFR) for NetShield 4.5.
