From a support forum: "I have resolved the problem. It's not a fix but a workaround.
Event ID 4097 is produced on joining the a Windows 2012 Server to a SBS 2003 domain for the first time.
After domain join and restart, rejoin the server to the domain again but don't delete the computer Active Directory object. There should be no Event ID 4097 error when you rejoin again.
Note: After domain join and restart, if you rejoin the server to the domain again but you delete the the computer Active Directory object first, you will get Event ID 4097 error after domain join.
Not sure if this is a bug in Windows 2012 or if the SBS 2003 DC is too old."
