Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.
The MS DTC log file attributes are invalid. The log file must not be read only.

What is the role of the MSDTC service?
I came across this error followed by event 4163, 4185, 2445, 4112, and 4111 one after the other. MSDTC would not start in Services. Nothing seemed to be contingent upon this service and all seemed well otherwise. I tried to reset the log and followed other articles but to no avail. I went to look to see if I needed to remove anything with Add/Remove and then looked at Add/Remove Windows Components. Under “Application Server”, “Enable Network DTC Access” was not installed. I installed it, the service started, and the errors disappeared. This pertains to Windows 2003 Server Standard.
