Additional info: plugin [ContentSecurity.ML.QAS.Plugins.SaveToDisk] threw an exception [Could not find a part of the path "<path>"].
In my case, the permissions on the Pickup folder were completely blank.
GFI MailSecurity causes this problem. In my case, the permissions on the pickup folder became corrupted. Going up a level and repopulating the permissions cured this problem.
Before repopulating the permissions, the SMTP service needs to be stopped. In addition, deleting the parent folder had the same effect. When the service is restarted all folders are re-created with the correct permissions.
