Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

What is the role of the WINS service?
Probable WINS database corruption. Perform a Jetpack. If "Jetpacking" the database doesn’t work, note down any static entries you have set, stop WINS, delete the contents of the WINS folder, start WINS and re-enter the static entries. In my experience, restoring from a backup results in the same problems.
WINS will try to recover automatically. If this message appears often, try running JETPACK or try restoring the WINS database from a backup copy.
