Event ID: 4375 Source: Microsoft-Windows-Servicing

Level
Description
Windows Servicing failed to complete the process of setting package <package> (Software Update) into Default(Default) state.
Comments

Our Windows 2008 Standard Server would not update and we received dozens of 4375 events in a row in the event log every time we attempted. In our case, the WSUS server had "locked up" although it was visible on the network. Restarting the WSUS server solved our problem.
This problem may occur when the component store that contains information about Vista components is corrupted. See ME931712 to resolve this problem.
