Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.
The com+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was 80040154 from line 44 of d:\nt\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. This may indicate that the COM+ Event System is not properly installed. Please try reinstalling the COM+ Event System.

What is the COM+ Event System?
In my case, the solution was to run the standard secedit line:
secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb .
I found this solution at "www.castlecops.com - Slow Bootup and Bootup Crash on XP".
In my case, Microsoft's article ME891801 helped me solve my problems.
