(Potential issues after installing SharePoint Foundation 2010 SP1) for some comments in regards to this event.
Windows Backup fails on a 2008 R2 Hyper-V host, returning Error code 2155348001
. At CLI, "vssadmin list writers" shows an error for the Hyper-V VSS writer. Providing that there is sufficient disk space on the system to make the shadow copies, a change to the Registry can often solve this problem:
- Create a new Registry value of type DWORD [64bit] with name "CreateTimeout"
- Change value to 12000000 decimal
12000000=(2*10*60*1000 = 20 mins) in decimal
Our server suddenly refused to run any system backups while it worked fine for months. This error on a SBS 2011 server came together with eventid 8230, VSS. Failed resolving account spsearch with status 1376.
Backup was restored by fixing the spsearch-error: Reinstalling Sharepoint 2010. Go to start, SharePoint 2010 and launch the Sharepoint 2010 Products Configuration. Follow the steps and your system backup runs smoothly.
The following post from an online forum helped fix my Event ID 521 and ID 9 errors on Windows 2008 Backup:
"I had this same issue on a Dell PowerEdge T105 server purchased for home use. I did NOT use the Dell OEM installation disks, as my copies did not support Windows Server 2008. In my case, I booted directly to the Windows Server 2008 x64 DVD and performed a bare metal install. That said, there is a small OEM partition on the disk that I did not delete during Windows setup and it was marked as active. I simply marked my C: volume in Disk Management as active and was able to perform the backup."
