Open up the Dell OpenManage Array Manager, drill down from Arrays, Perc X Subsystem (can be Perc 2, 3 or most any of their RAID controllers) and right click on the PERC X Controller and choose Properties. If the Recondition button is NOT ghosted, you can recondition the battery on the RAID controller. See Dell's Knowledge Base Document TT1029100.
