Microsoft Forefront Server Security encountered an error while performing a scan engine update.
Scan Engine: Microsoft
Error Code: 0x80070102
Description: Unable to acquire the scan engine update mutex within the designated timeout period.
|English: Request a translation of the event description in plain English.|
As per Microsoft: "The Kaspersky scan engine definition files are no longer updated to the latest version. This problem occurs because Antigen 9.0 does not handle the updated Kaspersky scan engine correctly". See ME947260 for a hotfix applicable to Sybari Antigen 8.0, ME947187 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server and ME947184 for a hotfix applicable to Microsoft Antigen 9.0.
Open Regedit and navigate to the following key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Forefront Server Security\SharePoint. Click New DWORD Value, type EngineDownloadTimeout, and then press Enter. Right-click the new value and select Modify. Select Decimal as the base, enter 600 in the Value data box, and then click OK. This setting causes the scan engine download process to time out after 600 seconds (10 minutes, instead of 5 minutes). See the link to “Fix for Forefront Update Timeout Errors“ for details.
