Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. From a newsgroup post: "After doing a Microsoft update on SPS 2007, my site went down completely. I went to the Office Server search service and put my own local server account in the logon using section then stopped and restarted the service. It would seem that the service was using the NT Authority Local account so if you are a member of the local admin group, your account will work. If that does not work, you need to figure out what account the SharePoint search database was using and use that one".
