Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.
An error occurred while trying to create the UDP endpoint for WDSPXE provider on interface <IP address>:68. This can happen if the network interface was disabled or changed or some other application is already using the port. The provider will not be able to receive requests on this interface.
Error Information: 0x2740.

When running WDS and DHCP on the same server it is necessary to change the ports that WDS uses. See the link to “Planning for PXE Initiated Operating System Deployments” for details on how to make this change.
This happened to me when the Microsoft DHCP Server was enabled and running on the same W2k3SP2 server as the WDSServer. This caused my PXE clients to be unable to download the boot image for legacy RIS images (startrom.com). This may also affect newer WDS boot images. The WDSServer would normally start before the DHCP Server Service. This time the DHCP Server started before the WDSServer. Disabling the Microsoft DHCP Server service resolved the issue.
