Event ID: 8022 Source: MSExchangeAL

LDAP Modify on directory "customer's directory name" for entry 'GUID=<guid number>' was unsuccessful with error:[<error code>] Attribute Or Value Exists. "customer's directory name"
- Error code: 0x32 - See ME254030.

As per Microsoft: "This event indicates that the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) modification attempt for the named object was unsuccessful. The error code/error message should provide information as to the underlying cause of the problem". See MSEX2K3DB for more information on this event.
There are several conditions on which this event can occur:
1. The reply-to address and target address were designed to be the same, which the Recipient Update Service enforced. See the fix from Microsoft (ME275511)
2. When the Recipient Update Service encounters one of these distribution lists, it logs an error in the application event log and goes to sleep for 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes have elapsed, the Recipient Update Service attempts to update the hidden distribution list again. See ME287137.
