Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. The EventId.Net for Splunk Add-on assumes that Splunk is collecting information from Windows servers and workstation via the Splunk Universal Forwarder.

What is LDAP?
Exchange 2000 attempts to use the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) when it performs Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) searches. If the server on which Active Directory is located does not respond or cannot be reached by means of the FQDN, the LDAP query will not work. See ME258181 to solve this problem.
See MSEX2KDB for additional information about this event.
This issue occurs because Active Directory global catalog server is not available to perform LDAP queries. See ME251746 for more details.
