I had the same issue and I was using the most recent firmware from Seagate. In my case, the problem was caused by the hot swap cage for the HDD.
If your controller is a Adaptec 2120s or other adaptec controllers and your HDD is a Seagate U320 then this problem happens by a fault in the management of the hard disk. Updating firmware of the hard disk the problem should solve this.
This event is common to many controllers. See event id 9 from adpu160m.
