Build a great reporting interface using Splunk, one of the leaders in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) field, linking the collected Windows events to www.eventid.net. Windows Server 2012 R2 domain controller that holds the FSMO roles and DNS. While connected via RDP I suddenly start to have timeouts. Can ping the server but other connections don't respond then suddenly it comes back. Most noticeable is LDAP timeouts for things like mail delivery. I'm finding this event is followed by a informational 912 event at the time it starts responding again. The server does not appear to be low on memory and is a Physical Dell PE R515 with AD Logs and DBs on separate drive spindle sets--still investigating a fix.
According to TH344030, this event indicates that a large portion of the database buffer cache is being written to the system paging file. This issue may indicate that you do not have enough memory installed on the computer. The minimum amount of RAM that is required for a multi-role server is 8 gigabytes (GB).
